All about a chain…

January 2nd, 2008

It is unknown for certain, when the first gold chains have appeared, but already in ancient Egypt gold chains were used by aristocracy as an adornment.

Chains at all times were signs of elite and privileges. In the Ancient Rome they were a kind of attribute to the certain class: chains from gold were allowed to wear only aristocrats, and common townspeople wore silver chains. In Europe only upper ten and rich tradespeople can buy a gold chain, and only representatives of clergy and members of knightly orders had the right to wear massive chains from gold.

Nowadays original jewelry - various chains - became widely available. They are with pleasure worn by men and women. They are called to beautify the man, to show his taste and nobleness and to emphasize a woman’s neck. Chains are permanent attribute of an individual image.

Last years’ fashion does not get tired to amaze with an amazing variety of design novelties. It is difficult not to lose the head before the dazzling magnificence of jeweler boutiques’ show-windows. And still, you will not be mistaken having preferred classical samples - in fact they have withstood the test of time. Among them there are chains (at times of absolutely inconceivable wicker-work), once offered Coco Chanel. Together with well-known suits they keep their popularity to present day.

Silicone gems will eclipse brilliants

December 25th, 2007

The aspiration of luxury’s consumers to possess the most hi-tech things is quite explicable. Now it is not enough to a rich person to have an antiques collection.

Soon judges of jewelry will have an opportunity to fill up the collection with very unusual exhibit. In the USA they have started to make jewelry using artificial photon crystals. They look as the true diamonds, but at that play brightly with all colors of a rainbow. Certainly, this artificial shine can confuse some people. Besides you will not explain to everyone, that you wear a hi-tech ornament which costs fabulous money. But the true connoisseurs will understand at once: this ornament is very unusual.

Not only appearance, but also technology of their manufacture is unusual. Lightsmyth Technologies have already for some years experiments with photon crystals. Such crystals’ perspective field of application - fiber-optic technologies. But it appeared, if to do them from a banal silica, stones start to play very beautifully.

Very soon Lightsmyth Technologies promises to replace an initial material from silica with sapphires. Then crystals will start to sparkle even more brightly.

Unusual ornaments can be ordered already now. The manufacturer informs on the price, that it will not be low. Purchase, of course, is unusual and a little bit extreme.
